Come September, every school should focus on ensuring (and measuring) student inclusion, belonging, participation & engagement and not zero in solely on “learning gaps.” If you do that, I guarantee that you’ll also address learning gaps.

Today is the 1st National Day for Truth & Reconciliation and most importantly, Orange Shirt Day. It is an opportunity for all to reflect on the truth of Canada’s history & the ongoing intergenerational trauma caused by Indian Residential Schools. Stand with us for hope&change.

The Canadian Residential School system completely disrupted the way of life for First Nations, Métis and Inuit families. It nearly destroyed how Indigenous culture is traditionally taught and caused a loss of language and culture among Indigenous people. (1/4)
