Feeling extremely thankful for people in the ISD community like Terri Hays, who donated these pillows to my counseling office. They even come with a pocket on the side to hold resources. The students at Sugar Creek and Abraham Mallinson thank you! #isdstrong #counseling

- This month kindergarten and first grade students learned about their feelings and how we can recognize emotions in others. - They also got to share a little bit about themselves as this was the first lesson of the year! 💙 #counseling #isdstrong #sugarcreek

- Mallinson students learned about the zones of regulation this month! They were able to learn what colors match which emotions they might be feeling. - Our 4th and 5th graders even got to learn about how our brain controls our emotions and what we can do to not “flip our lids”!

Here at Sugar Creek, we have been busy! Our K&1 students first learned about their zones of regulation, which help them express how they are feeling. Then, our 1st graders completed the IMPACT test! Whew! They are working hard!

At Sugar Creek, we are learning about our coping skills! Our coping skills are so important, because they can help us calm down and be ready to learn! We practiced breathing strategies and physical coping skills this week. #counseling #isdstrong #copingskills
