The great @LTexas1 shared leveled word problems using “puzzling pieces.” As students complete one problem, thinking is extended by giving a more rigorous problem (in this case 2 step word problems from Eureka squared). Math or treat!! Students had 3 challenges solving word problems using multiplication and division. The fourth challenge was optional (and just added fun)and their favorite… mystery touch bags! I hope I can foster their LOVE for math and build their confidence!

This was the perfect 3 act task to help connect our current learning (customary units of measurement) to our previous unit (multiplication and division). Students really had to use those thinking skills! Graham Fletcher

I’m trying to incorporate more authentic digital opportunities. Students loved Rounding Roadtrip. They chose 5 places they wanted to visit. Then, using Google Maps, found the distance and rounded to the nearest tens.

Using chocolate chips and cupcake liners to “bake” up some fact families. This activity helped reinforce that connection between multiplication and division that I had felt some were struggling with. #realworldconnections #math Eureka Math

We started learning about attributes of shapes. I thought it was a good idea to wear this shirt until I was asked 987 times why I was wearing a dorito. Can we say valuable teaching moment?! 😂

PBL is a great way to enhance learning! Here, students are researching an animal using Google Expedition. They will apply those skills and knowledge of area and perimeter to create a zoo habitat for the animal.

My third graders are using Canva to create digital presentations of their research. It amazes me to watch these kiddos and their creativity and their knowledge. #futureleaders #technology
