Teachers, let's stop answering emails at all hours of the weekend and evenings, both for ourselves and our own mental peace of mind, but also to teach others that we have lives, and can’t be available at any hour.

Not all your students come to class wanting to learn… but they all come wanting to belong. And when they feel like they belong… they’re much more likely to learn.

Questions should be encouraged! They help you gain perspective

As administrators… we are often just making it up as we go. There’s not a manual for the stuff we deal with each day. We just try to support the teachers and do right by the students... employing empathy, love, and common sense.

Our Head Custodians & School Nutrition Managers were invited to walk with faculty at graduation. My teachers saw them dressed in full regalia & rushed over for a group pic and yes, I teared up a bit. I believe ALL school employees are educators, & I am grateful for this moment.

Admin, the best way you can put students first is to put your teachers first. Take care of the ones who take care of the students.

Taking care of educators allows them to better take care of students.

My advice to new teachers is to avoid the toxicity and negativity. Avoid the teachers lounge. This job is hard enough and you don’t need that negative energy pulling you down. Find those who are excelling. Build relationships with them, students & your community.
