As a current student, I was disgusted to hear of this incident and horrified by the response of UOttawa. Celina Caesar (like the salad)-Chavannes (sh-van) you mentored our high school co-op students in the past, and I thank you for continuing to be a powerful role model for our students.

In our St. Francis Xavier High School mentorship class, we started listening to Frances E. Jensen's audiobook 'The Teenage Brain'. Students are using sketchnoting to process their learning and document their thinking. Great start so far!

Destreaming doesn’t diminish skilled trades. Apprenticeships are viable & worthwhile post-secondary destinations. It’s the pathways towards them that are the issue. Streaming positions trades as alternative options. Destreaming can make them part of the main menu.

Reframe the “problem”:

We read "What's My Superpower?" today at the #ocsbSummerSocial. When asked what the difference was between Nalvana's gift and those of her friends, a student replied "holding your breath is about your lungs, but caring about your friends is about the heart."

So sad to say goodbye, but so happy to have had our time together. Finishing off our #ocsbSummerSocial week with some fun games, including Alexa de Jourdan (she/her)'s Crunch Test!

Mentorship students connected with @OCSBErickson's St. Josephine Virtual High School students today for the frist of seven sessions. St. Francis Xavier High School students used this session to get to know their mentee through purposeful icebreakers.

Grade 10s had the opportunity to explore St. Francis Xavier High School's Transportation, Construction, Hospitality, and Justice #ocsbSHSM programs. Our SHSMs offer hands-on experience, the ability to gain industry-recognized certifications, and a chance to explore a variety of career opportunities.
