Honestly could not have asked for a better student teaching experience than being Brock's Gap Intermediate! Loved learning alongside their rockstar 5th grade teachers, welcoming staff and wonderful students! #bestplacementyet

So proud of all the hard work these sweet 5th graders put into their heart project for Celebrate Science! I learned so many new things about using technology in the classroom and how the heart works with them. #celebratescience McWane Science Center #learningtogether Brock's Gap Intermediate

In second grade we have been learning about fairytales and fractured fairytales. We learned how changing a setting changes the story. Today we read “The Three Snow Bears” and talked about the arctic. They were challenged to make igloos out of toothpicks and marshmallows. #STEM

To finish up our week of fairytales and fractured fairytales, the students were challenged to create a bed for Goldilocks. This was such a fun and easy way to incorporate STEAM in the classroom! #STEAM #Edgewood #2ndgrade

Thank you IrondaleCommunitySch these past weeks have been a great learning experience! Thank you for being such a welcoming school community. Getting these sweet notes makes all the long hours worth it and a little bit easier to push through the end of the semester!

Such a powerful message that can be transferred into the classroom. Just because some of our students may look the same that doesn't mean that they all have the same story. It is important to know each of our kids stories. "Stories are powerful". ted.com/talks/chimaman…

"Every child can do something well. I just had to find what they could do well and build on that...Instead of documenting what my students couldn't do, I started documenting what they could do." Thank you Amy Hoaglund for sharing your wisdom and encouragement!

Sometimes kids make bad choices... but it doesn’t make them a bad kid. I hope we communicate that message to our students. Tomorrow is a new day. (And we’re all hoping to be a little bit more mature tomorrow than we were today.)
