#ci5307 I just finished recording a lesson for my practicum students (2nd graders) on recognizing our emotions. Who knew that with the help of a little Disney, "Inside Out" magic, students can open up and learn healthy habits from the get-go!? @MrLostetter

During Black History Month and always, literature opens up the minds and hearts of children. I highly recommend the book "Hair Love" by Matthew Cherry. What a cute book that shows the importance of ethnically Black hair and family! Learning is SO powerful! @MrLostetter #Ci5307

Just discovered the application, Padlet! What a cool, visual way of seeing the responses of peers. I can definitely see myself using it in the classroom with the littles. Here is an example from my EPSY 5616W course this spring! #ci5307 @MrLostetter

#Ci5307 #PSTPLN @MrLostetter Hi, my name is Gaby, and I am a Junior, studying elementary education here at the U. I am passionate about creating an engaging environment for my kids, no matter the circumstance, so I have been quite thankful to technology for providing that outlet

Gabrielle Lifsheetz (@ms_lifsheetz) 's Twitter Profile Photo

#PSTPLN #CI5307 @MrLostetter Educational technology promotes the idea of engaging learning. Not only so, but it aligns with my teaching philosophy of creating relevant content that will have real-life applications for students.

I have been in a rural area for the last few days, and wow, does having an unstable internet change your views! Teachers and districts, PLEASE make sure that you're providing access to such resources and allowing for students to take part in all aspects of the curriculum. #ci5307

#ci5307 @MrLostetter #PSTPLN Technology can be used as a means of delivering assessments to children and seeing how they do when compared to their peers. After these results are computed, we can use that information to place children in challenging and level-appropriate groupings

#CI5307 @MrLostetter #PSTPLN New teachers may look for resources amongst their colleagues, but websites such as FairyDust Teaching and TeachersPayTeachers may act as great places to find lesson plan ideas. You just need to make sure that your curriculum is diverse and relevant...

#Ci5237 @MrLostetter #PSTPLN When selecting a district to work for, relevance and compassion are what I will look for first. Does the school go out of its way to make sure its agenda is applicable to the lives of students? Does it promote media literacy? Is PBIS employed?

Quizlet Live is such a great opportunity to foster a little bit of healthy competition within the classroom and challenge students' recall of vocabulary and concepts. @MrLostetter #ci5307

I discovered a new way to promote healthy exercise and movement on the daily basis in the classroom, GoNoodle videos! gonoodle.com This website offers groovy moves and fun games for all students that just need to get their wiggly worms out! @MrLostetter #CI5307

#CI5307 @MrLostetter youtube.com/watch?v=j-3eAr… is perfect to pair with a tutorial on Code.org There are so many options, such as Minecraft, Dance Party, and AI for Oceans! Imagine the possibilities if we just let kids learn about these technologies young!

commonsense.org/education/arti… This article does a great job exploring the idea of media literacy and why it is important to expand on this concept at a young age. They also offer a variety of websites that can be supplemented with lessons (such as KQED Teach). @MrLostetter #CI5307
