On Wednesday, October 16 we celebrated Unity Day at Oceanside School #8 by wearing orange! It was great to see our whole community come together to promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.

What a special treat! Our principal, Dr. Zangari, visited 1st grade today to share a read aloud of "The Big Cheese." The students were captivated by the story and we can’t wait for another Dr. Z read aloud in the future! Oceanside School #8

We loved exploring the properties of a pumpkin this week in science! We enjoyed stories and poems about pumpkins, as well as pumpkin math and literacy centers as apart of pumpkin week!🎃🧡

We love reading with whisper phones here in 1st grade! It helps us to practice reading with fluency and to self-correct! 📖📞

October is Down Syndrome and AAC Awareness month. We loved hearing one of our firsties share facts about Down Syndrome and AAC Devices each week on the announcements. Way to go!!💙💛📢
