My alma mater, Virginia State University, was set to make history as the first-ever HBCU to host a presidential debate. Canceling this debate should not be up for debate. I stand with US Senators Mark Warner and @TimKaine and VA Senator @LashrecseAird — the debate at VSU must go on!

Now that Biden and Trump are discussing debates, one thing is clear. The first ever Presidential debate at an HBCU, Virginia State University, should go forward as planned.

I would like to shed light that history could have and still can be made at VSU. First ever presidential debate held at a HBCU. I need community support on this one. LETS SUPPORT OUR HBCUS!!!!

I am EXTREMELY disappointed that President Biden and Fmr president Trump have both declined to participate in the presidential debate at VSU. This is a great loss to both candidates for HBCU support.
