A mini theme day for our first Friday of the year! Popcorn, cookies, and book trailers to get kids excited to check out books from our library!

My favorite way to set expectations! Students broke down our three main rules on sticky notes. I chose the best ones from all of my classes to put on our board to stay up all year! I loved seeing how my students plan to learn, allow others to learn, and help others learn.💚🖤🤍

Today the kids worked to figure out our first concept…identity! Students analyzed quotes, made connections, and finished with reading about what identity means for a 6th grader. They did great! Tomorrow they will make an “Identity Board” using components from our article.
