Very insightful. I don’t have an inner city population, but some of my kids have responses much like the children described here. I don’t want to forget that my message isn’t always received the way I intend. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sin…

I’m so impressed with my kids! Many are using inside recess to work on their number project. You should hear them helping each other with technology questions! I love seeing students work hard to learn!

There's no state mandated testing. This doesn't mean we overload younger students to the point that they and/or parents are stressed out. It's not about outdoing others virtually. Relationships before Rigor Grace before Grades Patience before Programs Love before Lessons

Most students cannot independently do work all day in a classroom with structure & teacher support. Asking students to do even close to as much work at home as they do in school is unrealistic, unreasonable, & can cause even more stress during uncertain times. #remotelearning

We shouldn't be trying to replicate a school day at home. We are not online schools. Our parents aren't homeschool teachers. We need to be there for kids in the best way we can while not adding additional stress to families. #QuaranTeaching

As teachers are working to meet the needs of their students, who is ensuring that teachers have what they need to remain whole? Teachers' emotional struggles have a direct influence on their interactions with students. We must care for teachers, which will in turn help students!
