Couldn’t be prouder of my S1s this placement - they worked hard to create these Cubist inspired still life pieces, drawing tricky objects, learning about tints, shades and harmonious colour as well as paint handling skills along the way!

Seeing as Halloween is now past, I thought it’s time to share some brilliant Christmas card designs from S1, who have been learning about colour theory and responding to the work of artist Loretta Grayson 🎄

S2 have been working really hard on these festive card designs using a wax resist technique. Can’t wait to see these printed as a real cards in time for Christmas! 🦌🎨

S3 have been using recycled materials to create samples for a shoe design project - some lovely material exploration here!

Sixteen S3s, two etching presses, one very happy teacher - look at these beautiful prints! A lovely last lesson with this class, creating drypoint etchings on recycled oat milk cartons, inspired by the work of Karl Blossfeldt 🌿

We had a great 'digital sharing' good practice event yesterday, organised by our probationer teachers. Good to hear about the various digital platforms being used and its innovative use. Open our further discussions about what else we can do to improve further.

Final lesson with S2 today involved a lot of PLAY! In this mini-golf course design challenge, we learned about: ⛳️teamwork ⛳️the design process ⛳️paper construction techniques ⛳️creative problem solving S2 worked so hard & got to play mini-golf at the end of the project! 👏
