A1: Representation is so important! I try to include different cultures in books, videos, or even math word problems. It definitely helps the students relate to the topic more. #mpcschat

A2: I take the time to know my students! I love learning about where their families are from, what traditions they celebrate, and just what they do on the weekend. I try to tell stories about my family so they are more comfortable to share about their home lives. #mpcschat

A3: I try really hard not to assume anything, based on biases that have been taught to me. Instead of assuming, I let the students tell me about their lives. I ask questions so that I can educate myself. #mpcschat #mpcschat

A4: I believe the first step is recognizing my privilege. Then I listen to Black, Hispanic, and Asian authors, speakers, and friends that have experienced events that I have not. I love reading books about different cultures as well. #mpcschat

A5: Definitely need to read some of the books that have been suggested! By educating myself even more, I can continue to give my students a safe and accepting space in my classroom. #mpcschat

Our themed days were so much fun! On Craft Day, we tie-dyed and painted. Then on Camping Day, we read by the fire and made s’mores. What an awesome week! 🎨🏕

What an award-winning week! Started off on Monday by winning the Washington Commanders reading challenge. Then today we won the Imagine Learning Math competition by passing 119 lessons in just two weeks!! 🏆🏆

Had an awesome time today on our virtual tour with Field Museum! We learned all about Sue the T. Rex, who is one of the biggest and most complete dinosaur fossils in the world. 🦖 Thank you for a very engaging and interesting presentation!
