It is important to establish positive relationships with new pupils. We begin with an activity of the staff sharing their ‘getting to know you’ boxes; a fun way sharing a little bit about yourself. The children then make their own boxes to share. @MJonessps Summerswood School
In art the children looked at a range of real and imaginary deep sea creatures. This week they decided to focus and sketch a dolphin. Their concentration and pencil skills were amazing! @MJonessps Summerswood School

What does curiosity mean to you? We read the book ‘The Heart and the Bottle’ and the children wondered and imagined who the little girl was missing. We discussed what it would be like to have no curiosity. Oliver Jeffers Summerswood School @MJonessps MrsWheatcroftSPS
Apple pie sensory tray 🍎🥧🍏 The children loved exploring and using their imagination to make an apple pie. They scooped, poured, measured and enjoyed the smell of the cinnamon sticks. @MJonessps MrsWheatcroftSPS Summerswood School
Weighing, measuring and mixing are definitely one of the children’s favourite things to do. The smell of chocolate chip flapjacks smelt divine! Summerswood School MrsWheatcroftSPS @MJonessps
Relating anger to firework/rocket. The match is the trigger, the fuse is our thoughts, feelings and body sensations, the explosion is our anger and the water is the cooling off and calming down process. A great model for children to relate to. Summerswood School @MJonessps
The power of kindness. Understanding how it feels and what it looks like. Treat others how you expect to be treated. Here’s our kindness pot, how we have shared kindness and how others have shown it to us. Anti-bullying week 2023 Summerswood School MrsFolkes-JonesSPS
