Heaven in a bed!

Today a Y11 boy told me that the reason so many ‘cheeky’ boys come to me for support, is because I’m like ‘that aunty who you want to talk to when your mum is really mad at you’ and I think that might just be the nicest thing a child has ever said to me!

Celebrating today with what Mother Earth gave us. How lucky are we that this is 10 mins from home?! 🏖 🌊

Feeling 🫤/beating myself up a bit: this wk I should’ve been submitting my NPQSL final assessment. Life got a bit chaotic 18m ago: I was doing a lot of last min Y11 cover in a new school & managing ‘PTSD’ that I brought from my prev school, so I deferred. Planning to go again!

I can’t quite believe how shattered I am at the end of a relatively short term! Happy holidays one and all.

As a low stakes revision tool, MWB cannot be beaten imho! A learning coach recently came to tell me that a boy she works with had astounded her with his recall of our current text. She’s never known him to know so much. The one thing I mentioned was MWB Qs which start lessons!

Tomorrow we gather Y11 together for a final good luck assembly from us, and deliver them letters from their loved ones. Not every child has an adult willing or capable of writing these letters, so staff step in. It’s an emotional moment to launch main exams. #AVBproud

Balloon day. Was a good one.

Today I volunteered to use gained time to man a P1 quiet room/ No big deal! By 8.25am I’d been given the chance to use Fri P4 gained time as an extra flexi-period, meaning I get to take my younger daughter out for a birthday coffee, just us. Thank you Avonbourne Boys' and Girls' Academies and USF leaders!

#ThankATeacherUK day today. We do our own thank-yous regularly throughout the year, but it was a kind and thoughtful gesture to receive one from our principal today!

Watching a TF trainee / mentee gain QTS via their VIVA made my day today. I’m so proud of him, and his efforts/journey.

Y11 leaver’s assembly tomorrow and I’m so looking forward to seeing some of my ‘chicks’ again.

Thanks to a well-being day from Avonbourne Boys' and Girls' Academies and USF and United Learning I’ve indulged in some me-time today! Cats and cuticles!
