I can’t love on Mrs. Thaxton enough, our 11th grade counselor!!! She’s there for our AE babies every step of the way and is in the classrooms making a difference to help our kids succeed and stay organized!!! What a great addition❤️💙❤️💙@righterAE

Students received a stack of topics/concepts/characters from Hamlet and had to arrange them to make connections. Awesome activity called Hexagonal thinking. YouTube it to find easy tutorials that make for awesome groups discussions about literature. @righterAE

Students matched quotes from The Crucible to related pictures and memes. Then they glued the quotes next to the pictures and explain why they made those connections. It was cool to see how different groups arranged the activity. Awesome lesson learned in KEY training. @righterAE

I am amazed by this AP Lit class and the way they annotated and discussed poetry. The conversations were so rich that even I learned a thing or TWO! It’s awesome when the students teach & enlighten the teacher!Austin-East is full of brilliance @righterAE

Last week we discussed and debated and discussed topics from “A Raisin in the Sun”. The discussions were hilarious and provided great insight into the play. This week we are working on essays for the play. Great way to end the school year if you ask me😂@righterAE
