For World Mental Health Day we turned the classroom into a chill zone. We had healthy snacks, a little mini cake treat, spa treats such as a foot soak and cucumbers on the eyes as well as a variety of mindfulness activities!

Lovely Halloween/Science crossover to explore evaporation. We mixed salt&water together before painting a picture with it. They loved seeing the water had evaporated&left behind the salt. So proud of how confident Y5 are getting using key vocab such as solvent and solution! 💜

How lush!!! Today during assembly, each class was presented with our own Tiny! The terrific Tinys were made by our Head’s mam to take part in our magical maths sessions 🩷🐢

How gorgeous is our Y5 planter?! For World Mental Health Day, the children held a competition to design a planter to add to our buddy friendship garden. Our winning design went on the front and back and everyone else painted something from their design on the sides. 🌺 🐝

Canny view for a bit of CPD after school to see what is on offer for schools at Souter Lighthouse. Will definitely be looking to book up a visit hopefully as we are only a 5 minute stroll up the road.

Y5 loved this filtration experiment turning muddy water into clean water (do not drink!). Cut in half a bottle&poke holes in the lid. Layer it with cotton wool, charcoal (bought from a pet shop), sand, small stones & large stones. Pour in the muddy water&watch the magic happen!

Y5 turned into space explorers today to make their own playdough planet model of our solar system. We talked about how important part it was to think about size&distance from the sun. I was pleased I could put my EYFS playdough making skills to good use!

Well I’ve had a lovely birthday at school with my Marsden family ❤️ The class were over the moon someone had sent along some birthday treats from our school Wishlist! The glue sticks were immediately put into action! Topped the day off with a meal out with Mr H & Little Miss H 🎂
