We held the Airplane Extravaganza today! ✈️ Students used their knowledge of the principles of flight to create 5 different airplanes. There were awards for furthest flight and best decorated.

Stirling students did a great job at the school group track and field meet yesterday. Everyone tried their best and many will be moving on to the district championship.

We had the Great Grade 6 Egg Drop challenge today! Students designed and built a parachute applying the forces of flight to carry their egg safely to the ground. There were some great designs and also some broken eggs. 🥚 🪂

Adella spoiled us today with Dooher’s Donuts! 🍩

We made tye dye and went to Henry Street Park today.

Up next in our week of fun - Ganaraska Tree Trekking! The students had a great time climbing, zipping, and swinging through the trees. 🌲

We played integer war today. The students really had to focus on which card was actually higher based on the rules. 🃏

We had a great grammar lesson today based on a tweet made by Patrick Mahomes about Aaron Rodgers’ injury. 🏈

We are working on showing each other empathy in health class. These brave students presented their empathetic conversation to the class.

We added to the school-wide chain of hearts to represent our learning about Orange Shirt Day.

We cheered for the Blue Jays today and supported Mrs. Reid’s favourite player. Toronto Blue Jays ⚾️ Maybe next year. 😞

We listened to a fascinating presentation by NASA astronaut Colonel Terry Virts today. It was so interesting to hear first hand what it takes to be an astronaut and what it’s like to be in space. 🚀👨‍🚀

We teamed up with Let's Talk Science to code a cup stacking challenge while we engaged in computational thinking.

We had a great Halloween! 🎃 we did a mummy competition, pumpkin bowling 🎳, pumpkin slingshot, and pumpkin trampoline.

We played Battleship today to practice our coordinate grids in math. 🛳️
