We had to work together to solve a puzzle which was an autumn picture with lots of autumnal nouns to spot! We then wrote autumn lists and included adjectives to describe and make our lists more interesting. We had shiny conkers, spiky hedgehogs and more! BroomhillSchool

“Walk and talk” Here we walked when the music was playing and then stopped and described our knight to our partner. This helped us think about how we were going to structure our sentences for our writing. #activelearning #talkforwriting #descriptions BroomhillSchool

We went on a verb hunt in our reading books and acted them out! BroomhillSchool

Reading alien words allow children to use the phonics skills they have developed to read words that are not already in their vocabulary. Children need to really use their knowledge of the letter sounds and spelling patterns to help them decode the word. BroomhillSchool

We had to throw the ball from different positions (crouched, kneeling and standing) and measured how far we threw. We then discussed which throwing position allowed us to throw the greatest distance and why. Our next lesson will look at weight transfer. BroomhillSchool

Snowball fight! We had to write an even or odd number on our snow ball (post it note) then throw it at someone! We then found a new snowball and had to carefully check if the numbers were even or odd and write a new number accordingly. BroomhillSchool #makingmathsfun #activemath

We have been learning about concentration through exploring the 5 senses. We particularly enjoyed this game where we had to pass around a bell without it making a sound. Focusing on sounds can help bring our puppy dog mind back to the present. BroomhillSchool 🧠
