My little is so excited, that for now, the plan is to return half days at her elementary school...that way she can see her teacher and learn from her teacher DAILY! 🤗

To end this exhausting day, I ended it by writing a letter to the incredible teachers who create magic in the lives of children all over this world. We must begin to move from problem to solution. Thank you for each and every one of you and for all you do on behalf of students.

Time should be spent now on figuring out how to deliver books regularly to homes, get kids on WiFi w/ a device, get math manipulatives and art supplies out. In person school is going to be short-lived (if it happens at all) and might even be worse than remote instruction.

This morning, 200 kids from our community were treated to a special Santa parade, breakfast & were paired with deputies to shop for presents for themselves & their families. Thanks to the Sheriff’s Foundation for making this special holiday experience possible! #YourVCSO
