It’s game day for Sunnyvale High School honors algebra 2 students!

This week I had the privilege of experiencing a BTC conference with Peter Liljedahl Region 10 ESC. It was by far the most useful PD I’ve ever attended. Started using BTC this week and I’m blown away by the critical thinking I’m witnessing from students! So proud of them!

Students analyzing their own mathematical writing responses! I think they’re finally realizing my answer will always be yes when they ask if they *have* to explain, justify, compare and contrast, etc. 🤣

Students working together today to piece together their knowledge of simplifying radicals, imaginary numbers, and solving equations to solve quadratic equations by completing the square.

I LOVE the “aha!” moments that happen when we break out the algebra tiles!

Students got to set class norms by discussing what respect looks like in different scenarios. I loved getting to know them by seeing things from their perspective! Looking forward to a great year with these awesome kids!
