"Most people in life quit before the turn. They are not ready to endure the length of a struggle or the length of losing. They stop before it was just about to turn. You don't sit back and wait for something to turn. You have to go make it happen."

Borrowing from Brian Cain I've been talking to our team about the "hourglass"/circle of focus concept: lock in & release. Also, importance of prep step, anticipation, and "want the ball." Forget the chit chat; Josh Jung puts on a CLINIC right here. mlb.com/rangers/video/…

The word compete comes from the Latin roots “com" which means with or together and "peto" which means seek, strive, or rise up. Compete is to rise up together. These young women are fierce and killers and have deep respect for each other. This is what it's all about.

Love meeting prospective student-athletes this time of year—getting excited about the next group of SAS baseball players! If you love to compete AND want top-notch academics (or know someone who fits that description), be in touch! standrews-de.org/fs/pages/2105

Go find yourself a wall and get better today  Want to play at the highest level, you better be able to defend. There’s only 30 DH’s in the world, take pride in your defense  You don’t need anybody else. Ultimately, it’s your career. How good do you want to be? #PicknPivot

Agree. It’s huge. Discipline is how you go from: - INTERESTED to COMMITTED - REACTIVE to RESILIENT - OK to GOOD - GOOD to GREAT

Don’t post much, but I’m here with a dynamite drop-in, Monty, to say how genuinely saddened I was to learn of Bob Uecker’s passing. RIP.

One little thing I always notice as a coach: players who make eye contact and nod while I’m talking. It tells me they’re locked in, engaged, and really listening. If you're looking to stand out, sometimes the smallest details make the biggest difference. 👀👍
