Thank Javan for sharing! The Alternative Provision of Basic Education (APBET) sector which was formerly known as Non-formal Education, continues to play a critical role in increasing access to basic education especially in Urban slums, informal settlements of Nairobi City.

Unfortunately! nobody is talking about these schools in Urban slums in regards to preparations for re-opening next week. These are *NOT* private schools. The government has offered 7 billion in form of loans to High cost private schools and forgotten the APBET schools.

Will support legislative efforts to amend the Basic Education Act to recognize them for capitation, will reduce the license fee we charge as a County Govt and will work towards making sure they are part of the school feeding program in subsequent financial years. Lazima iWork
