Really enjoyed my day listening to innovative and forward-thinking ideas from Daisy Christodoulou. Will begin to think how this might look at our school to improve the writing assessment process with the aim of making moderation more reliable and efficient for our teachers.

Can anyone recommend some great maths story books to support both literacy and maths skills across KS1 and KS2? We got shown a couple today including How Many Jelly Beans? By Andrea Menotti and Actual Size by Steve Jenkins. ReadingRocks White Rose Maths CLPE 🇬🇧 TeacherToolkit.co.uk

I loved going into Year 2 today and seeing the children so excited to read this book. I had a queue of about 10 children ready to tell me their predictions!

Thoroughly enjoyed taking Year 6 out exploring our local countryside! ‘We wouldn’t have got the same work done in the classroom.’ ✍️

Always, always, always – make time to read to kids. Just 10 minutes a day can CHANGE THEIR LIVES FOREVER. I think story-time should be part of every school day, in secondaries as well as primaries! #literacy theguardian.com/books/2019/mar… (Art: Dr Seuss)

It was great to see the headteacher support my idea of our new ‘Book Wishlist’ for the children. It gives them an opportunity to select the books that they want to read and also the chance to update our school library after they’ve read them. 📚 ReadingRocks

People who haven’t met the wonderful Chris Foyle often ask me if Dylan looks like him or me. He has my curly hair but I think that’s about it...

The best thing about Twitter is the sharing of ideas and resources. It goes to show that teachers aren’t bothered about league tables and more bothered about improving their teaching.

I’m really looking forward to getting this up and running. We want to create an environment where the children can read what they want. If a child reads ANYTHING in the week, they will be able to contribute towards their class total. 📖

Learnt something new today: Great tip for getting children to identify active voice and passive voice is by adding ‘by zombies’ to the end of the sentence. If it makes sense, then it’s passive. If it doesn’t, it’s active! Easy for the kids to remember 😂

Really enjoyed training today from Jonathan Lear - our curriculum is a long way off but definitely something to strive towards. Also, what presentation format did you use?!
