Inspiring discovery science translating into impact! It was 1978 when HHMI investigator Yuet Wai Kan found a RFLP associated with Sickle Cell disease, the first use of SNP linkage for genetic diagnosis. Now there is the promise of technology to correct this mutation in vivo.
