I’m old enough to remember all the times the parliamentary press gallery, especially CTV News, downplayed the impact of the carbon tax on inflation. When Conservatives fought the carbon tax - > no real impact on inflation. When Liberals do it -> a big reduction in inflation.

As a former Minister of Citizenship, Jason Kenney should know that there's no law on the books that would strip any Albertan of their Canadian citizenship if Alberta separates. Could Canada pass such a law? Yes, of course - but it would be highly unusual and almost completely

Canadians gave us a clear mandate: to stand up for our country and build a strong economy that works for everyone.    To deliver that change, we must act with urgency and determination. Read my mandate letter to Canada’s Ministry: pm.gc.ca/en/mandate-let…

Canada can’t build a strong economy on wishful thinking. We need energy policy based on facts, not feelings—and that means including all sides of the conversation. In Part 1 of my interview, I talk about the opportunities we’re missing and the balanced path forward. Let’s debate

Should government be allowed to legislate itself out of contracts that it made in good faith with citizens and not pay compensation? This isn’t just for #QEC this is for all Canadians. #govt #canada #canadians

Not great economic news as the economy keeps going sideways. Labour markets have weakened, particularly in manufacturing where jobs dropped by 30,600 in April—the largest one-month decline since the pandemic—pushing unemployment to 6.9% from 6.6% in Q1
