I have discovered a love of two things: 1. A Kind of Spark by Elle McNicoll ✍🏻📚🩷💜💙 which I recommend reading for pleasure but WILL become a class novel! 2. Listening to piano music as you read to drown out the neighbour listening to the football phone in while sunbathing outside

Has anyone used The Star Outside My Window by Onjali Q Rauf as a class novel before? I’m loving the book but concerned it might be a bit ‘heavy’ for primary aged kids. Let me know how they reacted 😊

A ROUGH draft of some VCOP cards I’m working on. Double sided A5 for easy storage in table baskets. They use the coloured one for reference and write on the white cards with dry erase pens. I just need to improve my laminating and assembly skills 🙄😅

Is there anything more heartbreaking than falling in love with the characters and inclusive stories of a particular author, being inspired to create IDL lessons and activities for class novel studies… …then finding out that author is a hypocritical transphobic? ☹️💔🏳️‍⚧️ 🏳️‍🌈

📚 BOOK FIND 📚 Aldi had a range of these wonderful, inclusive books for £2.50. They included books on diversity, families, different bodies etc. This one includes almost all of the categories and is so bright and colourful! Ideal for the classroom ☺️ #teachertwitter
