Delivered training to around 70 primary staff across NPCAT last night online. To get so many staff in one meeting is immense! Looking forward to seeing the impact in schools 🎉

Just thinking- the primary MFL curriculum in KS2 states that chn should ‘use their knowledge of phonology’. Is there scope within Y3 to treat it like EY&KS1, and have only discrete phonics sessions for the given language, then y4/5 build into spoken & Y6 written? Thoughts anyone?

A really interesting thought here.I reckon a lot of people do anyway, but this really emphasises the WHY we do it. I’ve often used quizzes, diagrams etc. when trying to promote deep connections. Now I know why it works! Great read that could be shared in staff rooms for sure ✔️
