Connor Dustman of Northwest Middle placed second in the Junior division of Minecraft’s 2022 Rube Goldberg STEM competition with over 1,000 students competing from 18 different countries!

Our 6th grade astronauts made rovers on the planet Mars in MCEdEd! They constructed rovers that could traverse the challenging environment on the martian planet & designed tools to help them dig into the tough surface to collect rock samples. Welcome to our annual Intergalactic Grand Pasta Prix 🏁🏎🍝! Racers! You must design and construct a Space Racer out of pasta inspired by rovers such as the Perseverance and Curiosity rovers on Mars. 🏎🛰🔭📡 So many pasta-bilities! Pasta La Vista, Baby!!! 😎

🌱🌿🍃 We explored the vascular system of plants (xylem & phloem) by experimenting with celery and food dye. Students focused on concepts such as transpiration, plant stomata & related it back to their own body functions such as sweating, pores, the blood in their veins.

Girls in STEM at work!🌱🔬🌿. We dissected our dyed celery to examine the different parts of the plant. We then observed the plants under our microscopes to compare and contrast the dyed celery to better understand transpiration and the vascular system.
