Change is not all bad. God is the one who gave the change of seasons. Think what it would be like if there was never a springtime. Change is good physically. Who would want to be a helpless baby forever? Change is good spiritually. We can grow more like Jesus

Some people are always late. It doesn't matter how important the meeting may be, they will be late. God is never late. He is always on time. We may think he is late because he does not operate from our time scale. He always comes at the best time.

Autumn is a time for harvest. There may be a long time before the harvest is ready. Some things mature quickly, but others take longer. How things are cared for determines the harvest. There are no short-cuts to an abundant harvest. Spiritually it is the same.

Sometimes people wonder why God doesn't speak. The problem isn't with God speaking, but our hearing. This is the reason the Bible says many times, "hear" or "listen." As children sometimes ignore their mother's voice when playing, we may ignore God's voice also.

Have you ever noticed how some of the most beautiful flowers grow on plants not pretty or with thorns? Spiritually God sometimes uses the most unlikely people, people with many thorns or defects. When God touches a life, there will always be a beautiful flower.

During cold days we want a warm place. There are cold times spiritually when we need to be warmed by the Spirit of God. We are going through one of those times as a nation. We need a great revival where we will experience the fire of God's love.

Recently I have seen many beautiful flowers produced by the cactus family. Some of the flowers are amazing in their beauty. The Bible tells us that God uses, not many wise people, but people who are foolish in the eyes of the world. Beauty grows from grace!

Christmas is a time for gift giving, but no gift compares to the gift that God has given. The Bible says it is an "indescribable gift." "The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." The greatest gift here pales before God's gift!

Merry Christmas! Regardless of our circumstances, it is a time for joy. It is the joy that was expressed that first Christmas, the joy we saw in Jesus' life, and the joy He gives to all who come to him. When you have Jesus, you have joy, real joy, eternal joy.

As we come to the gate of a new year, it is well to forget some things and remember others. Regardless of changes which happen each year, we can be sure of this. The Lord does not change. He is still on his throne. And he will guide us during 2024. Happy New Year!

In extreme cold people take precautions and stay near a warm place. Without God life is full of spiritual cold. God's love is always warm. We will never freeze to death in his love. His love covers, fills, and protects us. There is no better place to be!

What we listen to can influence us greatly. If we listen only to the news, we can become pessimistic. If we listen to false teachers, we can be led astray. It is best to listen to God's Word. We need to listen carefully, constantly, & obediently. God has spoken!

There are some signs that Spring is coming. Daffodils are blooming. Peach & plum trees are in bloom. Are there some signs that Springtime is coming in our spiritual lives? The Winter has been long, but now you see a few grace flowers. Rejoice, more is coming.

It seems like we are overwhelmed with bad news. It is hard to be an optimist & listen to the news. Because of this, we always need to keep one ear open to hear God's Word. His Word rings loud & clear despite the flow of bad news. Here is good news that changes everything.

Jesus is the good news. His death on the cross was necessary for our salvation. Also, his resurrection from the dead was essential. If he had not taken our place, we could not be saved. Only a living Savior can save. The Gospel is both his death & resurrection.

Jesus is Risen! Only a living Savior can save us. Because he ever lives to make intercession for us, he can save to the uttermost. "Because he lives, we can face tomorrow." In reality, every day is resurrection day for the believer in Jesus.

Outside a window in my room, there is a flowering cherry tree. The blossoms are beautiful but, I have never seen a cherry on the tree. It is beautiful but without fruit. Isn't that the way it is with many people? Where is the fruit?

Recently there have been many tornadoes in Oklahoma. They have caused much destruction and a few people have been killed. Many people have safe rooms where they can go. What about the spiritual storms of life? Jesus is our hiding place, our safe room.

Have you ever tried to put something together without using an instruction book? I have & it usually doesn't go well. God has given us an instruction guide for life. It has been tested & proved for centuries. It needs no adjustments or revisions. It is the Bible.

Autumn is a time of harvest, but there can only be a harvest if the seed has been sown & the field cared for. Spiritually the harvest is great. Jesus said fields are white unto harvest. They are ready. Now workers need to go into the fields & bring in the harvest.
