Sneak peek down the road to a (very near) future project. 2' #EnterpriseD, to replicate the ship as seen in #PicardSeason3 for Terry Matalas Quite a lot of plates spinning now at MPM...anyone know where I can get a Splinter Vest? Preferably one in good working order......?!

Happy First Contact Eve everyone It also happens to be my 44th birthday today, on 4/4. Only 39 more to go before the Vulcans land in Montana 😉

Time to start planning the current commission workload. This doesn't include another Revell Voyager and 1/350 Enterprise Refit, the kits for which are being supplied by the clients, and a few other projects which haven't been secured with deposits yet...

BIG thanks to Andy from Scalectronics for generously lending me his Helios 1/650 Enterprise D kit to develop the paint masks, making the process a lot faster and more efficient. Thought it'd be fun to show how it measures up against a casting of the 4' filming model's saucer

Officially broke ground on the 1/1000 Enterprise D project for Terry Matalas. The core lower armature is pretty much there, the nacelle pylon wing will be tackled next before moving on to the saucer armature....

Chipping away at the 1/1000 Enterprise D for Terry Matalas Laser cut 5mm clear perspex saucer armature plates are done, an aluminium support frame will eventually provide the major structural strength. Big thanks to John at Captain's Drydock for the fast laser cutting service

Part 1 of the 1/1000 Enterprise D project for Terry Matalas is up on the MPM Youtube channel, showing how I approach building aluminium armatures for larger scale models. Let me know what you think 🙂👍 youtu.be/_PraLZe53Tc

What a machine! Congratulations to John Goodson and Dan Patrascu on another spectacular miniature, built for Ahsoka. An amazing amount of engineering goes into these models, almost makes my head spin....like the wing on this ship! youtu.be/AEeN1s8402w?si… #Ahsoka #StarWars

Been tied up with orders and pre-Wonderfest stuff for a couple of weeks, but I'll be pushing forward with the 1/1000 D for Terry Matalas this weekend. For now though, take a look at Part 1 of the video series on the MPM Youtube channel youtu.be/_PraLZe53Tc

Want to get as close as possible to the original colours used on the 6' Enterprise D filming model? Andy Probert has shared this great colour reference - physical paint chips of the actual colours used. Thanks for sharing Andy 😎

I was REALLY hoping to turn this raw cast of one of the 27" Batwing filming models into a finished replica to celebrate the film's 35th anniversary, but unfortunately that seems like a project too far this year. Nevermind, I'll get to it eventually 😎 #Batman #Batman89 #Batwing

One of Greg Jein's production made Star Trek decal sheets came up at auction recently and I couldn't pass up the chance. There's a lot on here - 4' Enterprise D, Klingon Vor'Cha, and Romulan Warbird etc, as well as generic lettering and graphics, and even some GI Joe Cobra logos

The internal armature for the 4' Enterprise D filming model, fabricated by Christian Colquhoun, shortly before delivery to Greg Jein's shop for the model's construction. For those interested in such things...😎

Well, true to form I forgot to post this here yesterday....🤦‍♂️ Happy 1701 Day! Here's the biggest 1701 I've ever built, using casts of the original 4' filming model of the Enterprise D for The National Film & Scifi Museum here in the UK. A real dream project! #1701day

So, a couple of years ago I took on a dream project for The National Film & Sci-Fi Museum here in the UK....to build a replica of the Enterprise D, using casts of the original 4' filming model! Here's a teaser, LOTS more to come! youtu.be/Sc4e7_YAl_k

A few beauty shots of the 4' Enterprise D, built for the National Film & Scifi Museum using casts from the production moulds. If you haven't seen it already, here's a little teaser of how the project came together.... youtu.be/Sc4e7_YAl_k
