This captures well what is happening here in Lebanon and how JRS Lebanon and our Jesuit church are responding. Plainly, we became a shelter because no one else would accept the migrants who came to our door.
We were very happy to welcome Mathieu Luciano, IOM head of Mission here in Lebanon. Jesuit Refugee Service - MENA and JRS Lebanon
Grateful to the The New York Times for this moving account of the work we JRS Lebanon and others are doing with displaced migrants in Lebanon. Even with the ceasefire the struggle continues nytimes.com/card/2024/12/1… thanks especially to Alissa Johannsen Rubin for her sensitivity and depth in reporting.
Thanks very much to Ronnie Chatah for this. If you'd like to hear why Aaliya's has meant more to me than any space (apart from our church and center) in Beirut, take a listen here. Ronnie, Nadia, and Wael Taleb said it better, but this place was special. Thank you Aaliyas.
Was very happy to join JRS International and Center for Migration Studies for this! Powerful perspectives from Cardinal McElroy, Cardinal Baggio from 🇻🇦 DSSUI, and JRS's Kelly Ryan and Don Kerwin. You can find me here: c-span.org/program/public… Now fulfilled a life goal of appearing on C-SPAN!
