This captures well what is happening here in Lebanon and how JRS Lebanon and our Jesuit church are responding. Plainly, we became a shelter because no one else would accept the migrants who came to our door.

In Lebanon, Migrant workers have left their homes so others can stay, refugees would like to leave but have to stay, and many locals want to stay but have to leave. The right to stay is not so simple here — and it is all about #dignity

Christmas time in #Beirut: our church is still a shelter—migrants and refugee who have no home to return to. I have never felt #Christmas more, both the bitterness of our rejections for one another and the presence of Christ with us, sleeping in our church
