#SentimentalValue is an absolute showcase in humanistic storytelling, filled with the richest characters I’ve seen all year. Emotionally potent with incredible performances, this dive into depression, filmmaking and trauma is easily one of the best films I’ve seen all year.

#Urchin is a solid debut from Harris Dickinson, delving deep into the human psyche in a story about class, freedom, and addiction. Dickinson shows to be a promising filmmaker with his style blending spirituality and humanity, but Frank Dillane is truly the star of the show.

#SpringsteenDeliverMeFromNowhere is a slight, but emotionally impactful look at depression through Springsteen’s process in making Nebraska. Goes on a little too long, but Jeremy Allen White’s magnetic performance made this more than worth a watch. A subversive biopic, finally!

#RegrettingYou captures the whimsical tone of 2000s romance films, but the horrendous dialogue and rushed finale made this a hard experience to get through. Overly long and corny, this was not only a waste of its cast, but a waste of time. It’s weird seeing McKenna Grace drive.

Chris Stuckmann’s love for movies is on full display in #ShelbyOaks, but its poor structure and messy screenplay made for a disappointing horror experience. There are some good bits of tension, but lacks a compelling narrative through line. I’m still happy I donated!

#Bugonia is a biting satire of our current state, telling a surprisingly dark tale of how far off the deep in we’ve gotten. Although I found the structure to lack the flair of the dialogue, this is still another excellent Lanthimos movie. Plemons and Stone are incredible here.
