This country is sick. Renaldo Gouws, Penny Sparrow, Adam Catzavelos are just symptoms, coughs if you would, of that sickness. There was Never real truth and reconciliation in South Africa. That is why there is no economic justice, we are one of the most unequal countries in the

Watching the ANC and DA pretend to be in "tough negotiations" for an outcome that is at least 8 years in the making is hilarious. Watching the EFF and MKP tow the line and not insert themselves in this arrangement is also telling. Everyone is sticking to the script.👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿

When "shop owners" went toe-to-toe with taxi drivers/owners in Qheberha in 2021, with the asylum seekers brandishing heavy machinery, what did the government do? We are on autopilot and this country is a playground for any person who dares to fight for a piece of his corner here.

We must be at each other's throat whenever possible. That way the focus is taken away from the real reasons the native is at the bottom of the food chain. Every few years, we squabble amongst ourselves and those disagreements lead to tectonic shifts that leave us worse off.

The South African political elite is a homogeneous group, in different skin hues and wearing different regalia. They're all neoliberal at their core. They use rhetoric to placate the masses and delay a necessary revolution. When one of them dies, the facade is temporarily lifted.

Some of the most profitable banks worldwide are South African. This is one of the biggest reasons unemployment continues to rise while living standards keep falling. You see, banks, like the rest of the financial services sector, have high profit margins relative to the number

Most of us grow up thinking taxes pay for everything the government does—schools, roads, hospitals, etc. We’re told that if we want better services, the government has to “raise money” through taxes. But here’s the truth: That’s not how it works. 🧵Thread🧵

All this is to say that the problems faced by South Africa can be eradicated with political will. So, why are the ANC hellbent on deliberately keeping the majority unemployed and living in poverty?

A 43.1% unemployment rate is a catastrophe. How this tragedy has been normalised is beyond scary. The shocking thing is that the government still has no plans to reverse this crisis. Our leaders are breeding a revolution, and their 30-year task to placate the masses will end.

Inflation at 2.7% and prime lending rate at 11%. Who would be stupid enough to invest their billions in risky business when they can just put their money in the bank and see exponential growth?

A colony by any other name. The World Bank gives us a loan in USD. The SARB converts the money into the Rands the state issues, out of thin air. The government uses that money. When the SARB is asked to perform the same transaction without the IMF USD, it's "inflationary."
