As a freelance creative, I'm not directly affected by tomorrow's Creative Scotland MYF announcements, but can't help obsessing about the outcome and impacts. I also can't help thinking about a wee piece I wrote last year as a plea for the sector to go back to future thinking... πŸš—πŸŒŒ

Another busy #LocalCinema screening tonight, this time 60 folk in for INUK Out of the Blue in collaboration with Tinderbox Collective. So interesting hearing their connections with the Greenlandic orphanage associated with the film and an amazing and touching story too! πŸ πŸ“½οΈ

"Playing Edinburgh will always be seen as a rite of passage, but its future rests on one key question that its local communities and government must answer: β€œHow much do you really want it?”" Interesting emphasis on communities in this article: thestage.co.uk/opinion/could-…

Excellent piece in The Edinburgh Inquirer on the legacy of Helen Crummy in Craigmillar. It was her I was thinking of today on #IWD2025, alongside Mary Moriarty in Leith and Heather Black in Muirhouse, incredible women tirelessly fighting for their communities ✊open.substack.com/pub/edinburghi…

THE STORYTELLER (1987): John Hurt was magnificent as always in this beautiful Jim Henson series, which retold some fairly creepy European folk tales with a mixture of actors and puppets.
