Although sadly the rates relief is only temporary, through to April ‘23. Hopefully a more lasting solution can be found quickly.

Great debate going on here in @EveningStandard as to why ESG investing isn't to be discredited - but work needs to be done on sustainability ratings. @crowd_x Mike McCudden #ESG #BuildBackBetter standard.co.uk/business/sir-r…

It’s the replacement flight, taxi and uk261 comp they owe me. The law should not allow me to become an unsecured creditor of an airline for 3 months.

In accordance with ancient tradition (and the Port of London Thames Byelaws) a bundle of straw is dangled from Millennium Bridge to warn shipping of work under the bridge (we’re not making this up, honest). Robert, from our rope access contractor CAN Ltd, does the honours.

Today has been a less than stellar day for markets amidst growing uncertainty over the geopolitical outlook, but fascinating to see AIM’s two biggest risers being stocks - admittedly bouncing off lows - as they head towards the JP Jenkins venue.

Congratulations to Premier Inn who have just charged me 7 time over for 2 room bookings. Lots of other complaints on X - you have a problem here & call centre overwhelmed. Have the decency to put a holding statement prominently on your webiste. Simon Calder Paul Lewis

Just be careful as if the credit card company do a charge back on the live booking, Premier Inn will cancel the room. I have no way of telling which booking is live and which one is extra.
