No one says live under a rock, but can’t we practice basic mitigation strategies so we can ALL comfortably spend time in public spaces? Doesn’t seem like much to ask of a compassionate society.

Still the best description: "'living with the virus' means living with a normalization of death, reinfections, long COVID...People would never vote for a deteriorating quality of life and risk, but that’s where public policy is now taking us." thetyee.ca/Analysis/2022/…

“Child COVID-19 cases increased 14% over two weeks prior, a new report shows.” Brace yourselves, we’ve been told to expect a median of 100 million cases this fall/winter, & there are no public health measures. abcnews.go.com/Health/pediatr…

"You do you" Ok, but disabled people literally ! cannot ! unless basic, reasonable infection prevention measures exist to allow us to be in public spaces without our lives being actively threatened.

I don't know who needs to read this, but they are systematically removing disabled people's access to public life while creating more disabled people. No one wins in this scenario.

“The group was founded with a ‘laser focus’ on solving the problem of #LongCovid and said its structure & funding is designed to cut bureaucracy & leapfrog slower government-funded research.” This is what responding to a mass-disabling event looks like. forbes.com/sites/robertha…

COVID-19 infections may leave behind antibodies that turn on a person and attack their tissues and organs months after recovery, even if they had few or no symptoms in the first place ⚠️ Last time I checked the flu/cold didn’t do this webmd.com/lung/news/2022…

“What are you going to do, wear a mask forever?” “What are you going to do, keep getting covid infections until it kills or disables you?”

In 2022, my children learned well that we are living in a tough world with transmissible & virulent virus, lingering sequelae, cruel war, assassination threat, price boost, and rampant indifference to these crises.

“…..IT’S MORE CONTAGIOUS…” “….POTENTIAL TO WREAK HAVOC…” Sounds like ⁦someone⁩ genuinely concerned about SARS-CoV-2 being an AIRBORNE pathogen….🤷🏻‍♂️ #COVIDisAirborne

Disabled people can't make individual risk assessments ("you do you") about a majority of public spaces because the spaces only give one risk "option," & that is to be exposed to maskless people & concentrated virus-air. And that takes all autonomy from us.
