Can someone explain to me how $apts doesn’t cut their dividend again or dilute shareholders given the massive amount of preferrreds that are senior to common equity 🤔

While US thermal coal is clearly in a secular decline it’s tough to short those exposed given the cheap valuations 👇🏽

Wow, truly perverse….will be interesting to see how investors like Norges and Allianz who have coal restrictions view this for public US utilities…hopefully a carbon capture plant as described below would still count toward investment exclusion

Moneyandtacos Agreed - like most things, people boiling down a bunch of stuff into a singular score is not useful. But the disclosures, especially across comps and sectors can be useful to drive areas for further diligence (sometimes)

Any E&P who thinks Scope 3 emissions isn’t their negative externality is bound to make poor capital allocation decisions

So when folks make this dumb argument, 1) how much did they expect US oil production to rise in a few short months and 2) wouldn’t OPEC just have cut production in response anyways? Oil prices aren’t solely set by US production

TVA had rolling blackouts last week. They are ~3% wind & solar. They ended energy efficiency programs & added gas plants to try to cope w/ extremes. It didn't work. "Adding more fossil fuels to the grid won’t prevent blackouts." #txlege #energytwitter wpln.org/post/tva-bet-o…

Related to . point, even if you assume megapacks at lathrop are shipped internationally, the global markets share assumption for one plant seems like a stretch x.com/natbullard/sta…
