He.. has not? Did he go crazy down there?

Nervous grinning. "Nope."

"I am not joking, Detective. I am quite sure I'd remember a date with you. I've been trying to go on a proper date with you for /years/."

"I did not." He's frowning. "I got back a few /minutes/ ago. And frankly, I was expecting a better response."

"Detective, are you alright?" He raises an eyebrow, head tilted, examining the blonde.

"I do. Clearly. I was in Hell."

He narrows his eyes. "Right. No. What? Never mind. Enlighten me, what else did we do?"

He presses his lips into a thin line while listening, apparently feeling some tension. "Got closer how, Detective?"

"Detective." He clears his throat, trying to stay calm. "What do you mean by getting closer?"

"We.. I.." He isn't sure whether it was him and Hell made him go crazy, or it was Michael, which is the worse option. "I didn't. It wasn't - was anything a bit /off/ about me?"

He's boiling in anger, even if it's a possibility that Michael is around... "Sorry. Right. There's just something I need to do first." He hesitates momentarily, then steps closer to pull her into a hug. He's missed her.

He's waited way too long to be able to touch her again. Lucifer tightens the hug, basking in her smell. "Nothing. Don't worry about it."

He presses a kiss on her temple before reluctantly letting her go. "I will return in a bit. There's nothing you need to worry about."

He is going to kill Michael.

"So, who missed me?"

"I will KILL Michael, I swear to Dad."

"Michael is a dick."

I beg to differ.

Well, she should be sure of it, then, because he never lies.
