So inspired by all the advocacy and discussion at the #AUASummit24. The NC team met with 5 offices to discuss Telehealth, the urologic workforce and Medicare reimbursement. One fact all urologists need to know is: -63% of counties in the US do not have a practicing urologist.

TW: suicide There is an empty corner desk in a resident workroom at GW. Now forever engraved in my mind, that desk is a harrowing reminder of the cost of medical training. In his final words, Dr. William West said that he was simply out of gas, that he had nothing left to give.

Today we honor Dr. William West, who died by suicide. His family writes, “We hope systemic changes can be made to support aspiring medical professionals better. This is critical. We don’t want any other families to experience tragedies like this.”

Disappointing to see urologist Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. perpetuating hateful rhetoric about DEI in medicine 👎🏽 📢 Initiatives that diversify our workforce are NOT dangerous 🚨We NEED physicians who identify with the communities we serve ‼️Data shows that this IMPROVES quality of care

Sunday scaries hit different when tomorrow is the first day of intern year. Super excited to start this journey with my wonderful coresidents that I’ve spent my first year doing research with.

Week one of one of intern year ✅ I started residency on trauma nights, a humbling experience. I learned so much but still have so much to learn. Now to rest my body for a bit and jump into week 2.
