this is actually insane > be tech guy in australia > adopt cancer riddled rescue dog, months to live > not_going_to_give_you_up.mp4 > pay $3,000 to sequence her tumor DNA > feed it to ChatGPT and AlphaFold > zero background in biology > identify mutated proteins, match them to

One common issue with personalization in all LLMs is how distracting memory seems to be for the models. A single question from 2 months ago about some topic can keep coming up as some kind of a deep interest of mine with undue mentions in perpetuity. Some kind of trying too hard.

there will this brief era where we can watch our AIs bumble around on the computer clicking things, failing sometimes, taking a ~human amount of time to write code. in the blink of an eye they’ll be manipulating computers far too quickly to monitor

feels like a good time to seriously rethink how operating systems and user interfaces are designed (also the internet; there should be a protocol that is equally usable by people and agents)

Sam Altman says a line from Ilya Sutskever that stuck with me: "prediction is very close to intelligence" If a system can compress the world into a smaller representation and predict what comes next, it starts to understand the data in a deep way That's the bet behind

few remember this now but a significant chunk of tech twitter in 2020 made fun of you if you played with gpt3 and considered it something interesting beyond fancy autocomplete. some of these people are still “thought leaders” today
