This is probably my fav #collaborative #math & #visualarts activity we’ve done! Ss grouped the corks in groups of 10 to count to 200. We counted even further to 300! We arranged the corks to make a ❤️ & squeezed paint bottles to decorate. Our #DayofPink pledges are posted around!

It definitely is a SYSTEM effort! A lot of planning needs to happen to ensure the necessary intervention happens. We need to meet our Ss needs so that all students can read & write.

All #educators need to listen to Stephanie Stollar talk about MTSS so we are properly organizing Tier 2 and 3 instruction for those Ss who need #literacy intervention.

When Ss spend time gazing & admiring the #collaborative artwork done by our class, it brings me so much joy! This beautiful piece was done in partnership with McMichael Canadian Art Collection & Haida artist Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas. Ss illustrated a story using popular manga cartooning techniques.

Exploring the grounds of Humber Arboretum to learn more about the living things that exist in this habitat. We talked about lots of living things including plants, birds, turtles, trees, snails and fish! Un grand #MERCI for a wonderful day of discovery! TDSB STEM K-12 💚

Ss had a chance to use the nets to search for invertebrates such as dragonflies, crayfish, snails at Humber Arboretum today! They ❤️’d sticking their net in the water & then washing it out & checking to see what they caught. TDSB STEM K-12

We used the words we learned to spell this week that contain the target sound of the week along with other words we know how to encode to write sentences to describe the image. We have been talking about sentence criteria & types of words. #writing #literacy #TDSBFrench #spelling

We learned about the two graphemes that are used to represent the same phoneme & when to use them. We used the table to compare & show when we use the grapheme “ail” and when we use the grapheme “aille.” #structuredliteracy #TDSBFrench

We are doing our partner reading today in the AllenbyPS_TDSB Library Learning Commons! Partner reading is a fantastic & cooperative activity that helps Ss with improving their fluency! Ss take turns to read aloud an assigned text. #partnerreading #reading #TDSBFrench
