Fantastic turnout by the local communities for our on-site public lecture featuring preliminary results from this year’s season.

Successful end to week 1 with trench tours! 🙏🏺 #Excavation in Area 1 revealing a triangular space in the macellum; Area 2 with remnant opus sectile and #mosaic flooring; and Area 5 showcasing lengthy occupation history and reuse in forum tabernae.

Spotlight on FNP #environmental #archaeology 🌿🌰 Enviro sampling is a key aspect of the project! Flotation is used to separate light organic materials like seeds from heavier residues, which are sorted to identify archaeological materials related to landscape & foodways 🔎

An extremely productive season at Falerii Novi Project done with fantastic material on every phase of the town’s history, from 3rd BCE to 7th+ CE. Not to mention the brilliant #Environmental #Archaeology Summer School! Looking forward to pulling this all together.
