50% of the kids in care in Canada are Indigenous. They only make up about 8% of the child population. Currently, 91% of the kids in care in Manitoba are Indigenous. There are more Indigenous kids in care at this moment in Canada than in residential schools at their height.

November 8 is #IndigenousVeteransDay. Many Indigenous soldiers voluntarily enfranchised to serve. They came home from both world wars to lost treaty rights, loss of community and continued racism despite their service. Today we remember their unique sacrifice.
