Brian L. Frye Happily... Matt Steilen's Magna Carta and the Origins of Legislative Power (especially the first half, which is snappier than the second). Anyone who can bring the 13th century into focus with sentences that are mostly 15 words or less deserves a medal. Also very conversational.
