Disappointing response from Rachel Reeves to Jemima Burnage on implications of NI rise for not for profit social care providers. The allocation to (adults & children’s) social care won’t cover this given additional needs & costs. Hope need for mitigation is heard

The HM Treasury must amend the Budget to exempt charities providing social care commissioned by councils from the NI rise. Councils can't absorb these costs, meaning VCS providers having to. Some will hand back contracts or face large deficits. People will be left without support
