The community has been loving the Foodlink Community Cafe, the first pay-what-you-can cafe in the region & a training center for the Career Fellowship. That means it’s time to expand the team. If you know someone who’ll make a great Cafe Supervisor, please encourage them to apply

Thank you, Brianna Hamblin for this great story on the Foodlink "Lunch Truck," a partnership with RTS that reaches hundreds of families with quality meals... spectrumlocalnews.com/nys/rochester/…

"Noticeably absent are under-served parts of the city where digital divide is most evident. Greenlight is seeking NYS assistance to deploy into targeted though unspecified areas of Rochester." What's the ask to NYS? City, County & NYS all have ARP $$. Let's stop kicking the can.

I had the good fortune to spend a lot of time with ROC youth this week. I joined Freedom Scholars for Harambee, worked alongside some of Foodlink’s summer youth employees, and today got to tour teens from the Boys & Girls Club around the Lexington Ave Farm. The future is bright.

The Foodlink Community Cafe will be temporarily closing Aug. 23 thru Sept. 6 after a successful 3-month pilot. We'll be back Sept. 7 with a few changes, including the opening of our indoor seating area! Stay tuned for more updates at: foodlinkcommunitycafe.org

This is HUGE. Even before COVID hit, too many people couldn’t afford the basic human right of access to nutritious food, which is why this review was included in our bipartisan 2018 Farm Bill. This is going to be a lifeline for so many hungry families. nytimes.com/2021/08/15/us/…

This is huge news and well overdue. The "Thrifty Food Plan," a list of food groups the govt uses to estimate cost of economical, nutritious diet, had not grown (other than inflation adjustments) since first set in 1962. Yet, nutrition science has changed dramatically since then.

What a long and crazy 18 months it’s been in Rochester (hey, that’s our home). We thought it would be nice if we could all get together and ya know, get #together. We’ve been wanting to do a big outdoor festival for quite awhile, and we’re thrilled today to announce…

I took Levi to see some NBA players and then we walked to the Westside Farmers Market on Genesee St. Today, his preferred orange sphere is 🍈 not 🏀 Market is open for a little while longer tonight (St Monica Church), and the selection is phenomenal

It’s 8:17pm on a Wednesday night and there are no available tennis courts at Cobbs Hill. There’s at least 30 people here. I’m bummed that I’ll have to go elsewhere, but I love seeing so many people utilizing Rochester’s great parks and facilities.

Italian (prune) plums are on my Mt Rushmore of fruit. They are abundant today at the Public Market. And the corn has finally turned the corner and gone from good to great. Tis the season at the Roc Public Market
