Yr10 enjoyed drawing on the tables today. The topic was minerals and their importance. They drew around each other and labelled their human bodies with the function and deficiencies of calcium and iron. Some impressive art skills too 🤣👌Fantastic effort from all Maesteg School D&T

Happy Diwali (for yesterday) from 9Y!! They spent 2 hours making a feast, which included homemade bombay potatoes and naan breads, samosas, onion bhaji's and pakora's. We decorated the table with lights donated by Mrs Harwood 🌈 & Miss.Pearson - Maesteg School A manic 2 hours but worth it!!

Another day of baking and decorating in T04... Year 8- halloween shortbread 🎃 Year 13- cinnamon buns, which were WOW!!! Gemma Tatchell on the cupcakes for the show, decorated by 2 of our lovely and talented year 11s, Lola & Ruby 😊

A fantastic workshop delivered by Jo, our school chef on Thursday. Y11 made fresh sushi and got so stuck in, helping each other and experimenting with flavours. Love that only 3-4 pupils were keen to try at the start and nearly all were sat enjoying their end products 🍣

We have had some fantastic work being created this half term. Halloween cake pops for the final practical of the week, what an excellent start to the year!! Happy half term 😊

Year 11 have been cooking up a storm during their recipe trial sessions, gearing up for their big practical exam which start next week! Some unbelievable talent in this year group, very proud 👏 p.s EVERYTHING in these photos was made from scratch!

Year 8 visited CDT in Caerau this morning to learn about how they help so many people in our community. They got stuck in volunteering to prepare veg for tomorrow's service and were rewarded with sausage and chips. They did an amazing job and should be so proud 👏 Gemma Tatchell
