The trauma of growing up in poverty or just barely having enough to get by is something we really need to start talking more about. The chronic stress of those childhood experiences lives in the body.

Not hearing much back from schools i’m applying to. Whilst two of my friends have got ECT jobs and another has been to interviews. I know it’s early but this is really affecting my self worth🙃! This process is relentless!

I love student teaching when I’m in the classroom in the middle of everything with my kids but this sunday evening anxiety is so difficult to get through. Does anyone have any tips on dealing with this? Finding it so difficult often🫠 Mr T's NQT/ECT support 🙋🏻‍♂️

Teaching is one of those jobs where despite having a good day, you feel extremely frazzled at the end of the day. The cognitive load immense. The amount of things we have to hold in our heads during just 1 minute of a lesson is crazy! 1/2

Teaching is so hard when things are hard in your personal life. There's no option to not be OK, you just have to be on your A game from 8-4 while there are students about. It's tough. Look out for your colleagues. ♥️

Last week of my final placement, teaching 80% and having my final placement review. Found out my mum and my nan have cancer this weekend. Don’t know how i’m supposed to get through this week 🙃 Hoping being with the kids will help take my mind off things.

Really simple answer - don’t. Loads of kids can’t come in cos they’re actually unwell and so missing a reward is like an extra punishment on top of ill health, and then the majority of the time the rest of attendance issues are down to parents, so why take it out on the child?

Pro tip: Create a piece of work with mistakes in it, this could be a piece of writing, maths equations, or anything else, and have students mark and correct it This can help show just how well a student understands, and help them correct their own future mistakes #edutwitter

Final day of placement. Going to miss my kids so much! Knowing I get to see them in the morning has got me through so much the last ten weeks. Must not cry! 🥹

Would anybody be happy to read over and suggest improvements for my personal statement? Applying as an ECT. Had such a difficult few weeks and I’m really struggling to make it the best it could be! 💗
