My y7s need to develop better fluency with times tables so I've been making starters like this. They always start with writing down a times table and end with a double number line; the other questions vary but all involve that times table. Simple but effective #maths #iteachmaths

CPD on making our modelling more expert. Love the analogy of passing the baton and the complexity of the 'we do'. Pass it on too late and you slow them down. Pass it on too early and they drop the baton.

One thing I see and hear of a lot with warm/strict is teachers forgetting the warm part. The counter-balance to teachers needing to be firm when firmness is required is teachers needing to be friendly. Teachers not wary greeting students, or even worse 'blanking' them, is toxic.
